Mesa Lavender Farms (Dec 2022)

Mesa Lavender Farms:
Lavender and CBD, a unique and powerful duo!

A founding member of both USLGA and Colorado's Lavender Association, Dr. Curtis Swift created Mesa Lavender when he retired from Colorado State University after years of conducting research on lavender. Through his research, Dr. Swift knew of the great healing properties lavender possessed. After Dr. Swift joined forces with Kate Keaney, Cannabidiol (CBD) was added to many of their products -- taking advantage of the beneficial health effects when combining lavender with CBD.

All Mesa Lavender products are made with the highest quality CBD and lavender-based ingredients. We use lavender grown in Mesa County, Colorado, and highly refined CBD, which is carefully selected based on certificates of analysis. This ensures the quality of our ingredients exceeds the market standard. Offering CBD/Lavender products helps those who seek alternative and natural ways of treating inflammatory conditions such as arthritis, autoimmune disorders, and digestive issues while improving symptoms of insomnia, autism, anxiety, headaches, and more. When supplemented, as directed, the benefits of CBD/Lavender are profound.

Kharis Lavender Fields (dec 2022)

Feature Farm – Kharis Lavender Fields
Claudia Tsas, Owner

Q: Tell us about yourselves, your farm history, and how you ended up in lavender farming.

Greetings! I'm Claudia Tsas. My husband Robert and I bring our unique perspectives to our budding lavender farm and business. My Bolivian roots allow me to appreciate the importance of natural ingredients and what we put on, and in, our bodies, and how it affects our well-being. Robert brings his Dutch culture's farming influence into our lavender farming venture: but instead of growing rows of tulips, like in his native Netherlands, we grow lavender. His Dutch influence enhanced our farming procedures and product creation. Together, we built a local business known for our picturesque lavender farm with high-quality products and services. Within the fields of Kharis, we are making our dreams a reality and leaving a legacy for our children and grandchildren.

Letter From the Editor (June 2022)

Letter From the Editor

As I look back at my 22, or is it 23, years as a lavender grower (so long I can’t remember exactly) I think about all the different directions I tried to go with my business. Some advice for newer growers out there, don’t get discouraged. It may take a while to learn what works for you and what you enjoy doing most. Building a business can be a long and sometimes frustrating process.

Another important bit of advice: don’t be afraid to ask for help, or to hire it. USLGA and its members are a great resource for valuable information and advice. Take advantage of all USLGA has to offer. And I have rarely regretted hiring out some tasks. Especially those I’m not good at, or don’t want to do. Hiring may cost money, but it will help move your business forward faster, and often better, than you can do alone. Identifying someone(s) who can do the tasks you never seem to get to is a good place to start.

Letter From the President (June 2022)

Letter From the President

Dear USLGA Members,

It’s June and that means busy time for the lavender growers in our organization. My farm, in Northern California, begins to show great color in May. I have been reading on the Member FaceBook Group Page that some of our growers in other parts of the Country are still evaluating their plants after a harsh winter.
