Southeast Region Event

The places we know we will visit:

1    Lookout Lavender Farm (Alice & Bill Marrin), 1039 North Moore Rd., Rising Fawn, GA 30738.
2    Dade County Agriculture Extension & 4H facility, 114 Pace Dr., Trenton, GA 30752.
3    Still working on possible farm visits: Chickamauga, GA and/or Wildwood, GA, and/or Rising Fawn, GA.

The lineup so far is:

•    Visit Lookout Lavender and see a distilling demonstration.
•    Show and Tell; will ask everyone to bring something for this. It can be anything you want to share. To give you a few examples: I will be bringing some signs and share having them stolen and how we are now dealing with that. Alice will share how she is planting to deal with voles. Tina will be demonstrating her automated bath bomb-making machine.
•    Asking everyone to bring a dish of some sort that does not need to be heated made with Lavender to share and a written or typed recipe for the dish to share with the group.
•    Speaker from NRCS (The U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service). He will speak about the EQIP program.
•    We will be visiting one or two Agritourism type farms that are not Lavender farms to learn about their journey and how we might apply it to our businesses.
•    We hope to still have ample time for round table discussions and cultivating long-term relationships with the other members in our region.

There will be a fee to cover expenses, but we will keep it as low as possible.
